When you plant trees and they start to grow, you get the bug a bit and you enjoy it! You’ve left something behind for the future.
— Steve Horgan, Horgan Farming, Patoka Hawke’s Bay

We are specialists in eco-sourced seeds and locally grown trees and shrubs, nurtured specifically for the landscape and conditions found in Hawke’s Bay. We cultivate our quality seeds and plants for a robust life; fostered for strength, hardiness, root condition and survival. We have dedicated ourselves to growing a diverse collection of native plants along with Poplars and Himalayan Oaks for pastoral farming.

We have a depth of knowledge about the special suite of plants we have in Hawke’s Bay that means we understand the landscape and know which plants suit different sites. Our offering spans product, planning, service and support, tailored to each customer’s unique land, vision and goals. We want your project to succeed, so will give you the best advice we can with guidance from initial planning and plant selection to planting recommendations, and follow-up care and service.

Landscape and plants are what help define an area and must be treasured. Using eco-sourced plants protects local biodiversity and respects the local landscapes, helping keep the unique character of Hawke’s Bay intact. With our knowledge and respect for the history of this region, we are making a difference today and for the future of Hawke’s Bay.

We specialise in native plants for restoration, conservation, wetlands, farm planting and landscaping projects. Our seeds are sourced from naturally occurring indigenous populations throughout Hawke’s Bay. Every summer and autumn we traverse the area for the widest range of seeds from all sorts of landscapes, collecting seeds from original wild plants and landscapes wherever possible. If you’re after a particular species, we’ll work with you to find the best option for your site.
